Invoicing

Free invoicing, with one difference.

Create an invoice, send it, track it. All the normal things, all free.

The difference is what happens next. When the money arrives, Kalnov records how long it took. Do that a few times and you know exactly what to expect from every client you have.

The record

See how a company pays before you commit.

Search a company and you get a number from 0 to 100, plus the detail behind it: how many days they typically take, how often they pay late, how many invoices it’s based on.

Two sources feed it. Large companies are required by law to publish their payment times — we’ve imported 9,500 of them. Everything else comes from freelancers invoicing through Kalnov.

Your clients

The companies you work with aren’t in here yet.

Public filings only cover large companies. The clients most freelancers actually work with are too small to file, so they only appear when someone invoices them through Kalnov.

That’s you. Send invoices, mark them paid, and those clients get a record. Early users decide which companies get scored first.

How the score works

Just days counted. No reviews.

Nobody rates anybody on Kalnov. There are no stars, no comments, no opinions.

A score is one thing: how many days it actually took to pay, averaged across every invoice we have. If a company disputes their score, we check the invoices — not how anyone felt about them.

Public filings

Companies above a size threshold must report how long they take to pay. We import every filing and keep the most recent.

Network data

When two or more freelancers invoice the same company and at least three invoices exist, a network score appears. Outlier protection caps any single contributor’s weight.

They know you can see it.

A client who pays late has always known you’d find out eventually. Now they know you knew before you started.

Never take on a client blind again.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Yes. Invoicing is free permanently. Scores are free right now while the network is growing. If that changes, anyone already using Kalnov keeps their access.

Two places. Large UK companies are legally required to publish how fast they pay their suppliers — we import every filing. And every invoice sent through Kalnov adds to the record.

We count the days between an invoice being sent and being paid, then take the median across every invoice we have for that company. Late payments and unpaid invoices lower it. The full method is published.

They can dispute it. We look at the underlying invoices and correct the record if the evidence supports it. We don't remove scores because a company doesn't like them.

No. Scores are aggregated and no individual invoice is ever shown. A company can't tell who reported what.

Kalnov works anywhere. The imported public filings are UK companies, but any company can be scored once people start invoicing them through Kalnov.
